Sam Matterface predicts damaging Leeds United defeat to Brentford
Commentator Sam Matterface believes Leeds United will fall to a damaging defeat against Brentford on Sunday [22 May].
The Whites head to West London knowing that they must better Burnley’s result in order to remain in the Premier League.
However, Matterface believes it will be a comfortable afternoon for Thomas Frank’s side.
Talking on talkSPORT breakfast on Friday [07:43, 20 May], Matterface said: “High scoring Brentford are in good form and Leeds have to go for it, it’s not in their own hands.
“They have to win and cross their fingers and that will leave them a little bit open at the back, so I think Brentford will actually get a result.
“I am going 3-1 Brentford.”

Hard to disagree
This is a hard task for Jesse Marsch’s side, and even if they do get a result, it still may not be enough.
The Elland Road faithful will be hopeful of a positive result, but when taking into account Brentford’s recent form and how Leeds have struggled of late there will need to be a huge shift in performance for the Whites to pick up a result.
Leeds must ensure they remain in the match for as long as possible.
Falling behind early will relieve the pressure on Burnley.
Whoever scores first on Sunday will heap the pressure on the other side.
If Leeds ends up needing to win then Brentford could really hurt Marsch’s side.
Christian Eriksen, Bryan Mbeumo and Ivan Toney have all enjoyed successful seasons and will see Leeds’ leaky defence as a great opportunity to finish the season strongly.
The Bees know that a win could take them into the top 10.
For Leeds, Marsch will need to come up with a meticulous plan to keep Leeds competitive for as long as possible and try and steal a goal.
It promises to be a nervous day in West London.
