Sam Field clause emerges at QPR amid Leeds United transfer speculation
Sam Field could be on his way out of QPR this summer amid speculation linking him with a move to Leeds United, according to the Birmingham Mail.
The newspaper reported via their website on Wednesday (2 August) that Field, 25, is in the final year of his contract at Loftus Road and has started to attract attention from elsewhere.
It is understood that while QPR do have the option to extend the midfielder’s deal by an extra year, Leeds are linked with him while Rangers, managed by ex-Rs boss Michael Beale, are also keen.

The Birmingham Mail adds that any fee paid for Field this summer would see his former club West Brom entitled to 20 per cent of any profit made.
QPR signed Field permanently in May 2021 after a successful loan spell in West London.
Extra depth
Leeds could do with adding to their midfield options.
As it stands, it looks like youngster Archie Gray could be starting against Cardiff City this weekend due to Tyler Adams being out injured and the likes of Adam Forshaw leaving.
Options are limited at Elland Road and Field is a proven operator at this level.
The former West Brom midfielder can play in pretty much every midfield role, thanks to Beale.

Speaking to QPR’s official website last June, the Stourbridge-born ace revealed that he was being turned into a box-to-box midfielder by the now-Rangers manager.
Leeds could definitely do with that and the fact that Field’s in the last year of his contract – albeit with that option of an extra year – means they could snap him up on the cheap.
QPR may want more money due to that sell-on clause they agreed with West Brom two years ago but the chance to sign someone with over 120 second-tier appearances, who’s only 25 years old, seems like a good opportunity for Daniel Farke.
In other Leeds United news, Willy Gnonto has told his agent what he’s decided to do in this transfer window.
