Willy Gnonto looks increasingly unlikely to join Everton despite a move away from Leeds United still appearing to be on the cards, according to TEAMtalk.

The news outlet reported on 2 August that the Italian winger has told his agent that a switch to the Toffees is "not appealing to him", but that there remains a chance he could still join a Serie A club.

It said Juventus and Atalanta are keen on signing the 19-year-old, while the Whites "retain an element of confidence" that he will remain at Elland Road for the upcoming season.

Twist

This is quite the twist in the ongoing transfer saga surrounding Gnonto as it had looked likely that he would make the move to Goodison Park this summer.

But after the Daily Mail reported on 2 August that Everton had a bid in the region of £15million rejected for the winger, the move started to look unlikely.

And now after the TEAMtalk report has highlighted that the Italian would rather remain at Elland Road than make the switch to Merseyside, it looks to be pretty much dead in the water.

That doesn't mean he's going to stay in West Yorkshire, though, as Serie A giants Juventus and Atalanta are sniffing about and they would surely be enticing opportunities for the teenager.

If either of those clubs make a bid worth anywhere near Leeds' valuation of their prized asset, then it's going to be extremely difficult to keep hold of him.
