'Runs like a madman', 'Off it big time' – Leeds Super Fans pick MotM and flop v Huddersfield

This is part of a regular series from our panel of Leeds United Super Fans. Each week, our Super Fans will deliver their verdicts on the biggest talking points and news stories around Elland Road and Thorp Arch.

The fixtures are coming thick and fast now, and Leeds play again tonight when Hull City travel to Elland Road.

Leeds go into the game in fantastic form – six wins in a row, with Huddersfield the latest side to fall to Bielsa ball.

The 2-0 win on Saturday wasn’t completely straightforward, though. Leeds weren’t great in the first half of the game (by their high standards!) but they were getting used to the loss of Kalvin Phillips with Ben White playing a different role to his normal centre-back position.

However, once Gjanni Alisoki scored early in the second half with a quite brilliant volley, there was no way back for Huddersfield.

A devastating counter-attack secured the points for Leeds, although Huddersfield were perhaps unlucky not to score, meeting Kiko Casilla in absolutely brilliant form.

Who was the standout player and who flopped on the day? That was the question we asked our esteemed panel of Super Fans. This is what they had to say…

Martin Charlesworth (@mcharlesworth10)

Jonathan Fox (@foxy619)

Adam Copley (@Adam_coppers98)

Adam Elliott (@adam_elliott118)

Jordy Phillips (@JordyP1993)

Kiko Casilla and Gjanni Alioski were the biggest hits from our Super Fans and Ben White was the miss against Huddersfield.

But, as one Super Fan pointed out, no one really had a stinker and the important thing was the three points.

That’s the case when we go again on Tuesday night, against Hull. They were the team that put a stop to a seven-game run last season.

Tonight, Leeds should have too much for them.
