Rumours continue to spiral that Leeds United want transfer for Alex Scott

By Richard Bond.

Rumours are continuing to swirl that Leeds United want to sign Bristol City sensation Alex Scott, according to The Athletic on Thursday 16 March.

The 19-year-old Guernsey-born England youth international has been one of the stars of the Championship this season within the Robins’ squad.

Nigel Pearson has potentially dampened hopes of any move though, with any transfer set to cost more than the estimated £25million that has been suggested.

The Young player of the month in the Championship has an ability on the ball that has drawn comparisons to his hero, Manchester City midfielder, Jack Grealish.

The former Southampton and Bournemouth academy prospects’ energetic displays on and off the ball have made Scott a first choice in the Robins line-up, racking up an impressive 85 senior appearances since joining the club in 2020.

Rumours.

It appears very hard right now to predict what will happen in the summer transfer window.

Victor Orta will have targets in mind with the club both in the Premier League or the Championship, should the worst case actually happen and we finish in the relegation zone.

Scott will no doubt be moving to the Premier League to progress his career though, so Leeds need to stay out of that bottom three if they want to get a deal over the line.

Spurs are among the other clubs mentioned and given their financial power, it could be hard to beat them, but is this where the 49ers Enterprises may come into play?

Leeds are going to enter the summer under new ownership regardless of what happens, so they could have a new financial superpower behind them to finance moves such as this.

If the Whites want to kick on and stop fighting relegation every season, they need to spend money, and this could be the first move they make to prove that is the plan.

All eyes may be on this one.

In other Leeds United news, the club may now face a losing battle to keep their star player at Elland Road beyond the summer transfer window.
