Ross McCormack hails Crysencio Summerville after Leeds United video clip emerges on Instagram
Ross McCormack has dubbed Crysencio Summerville as the best player in the Championship after Leeds United won 3-2 against Norwich City on Saturday.
Daniel Farke’s men came from 2-0 down at half-time at Carrow Road to pick up all three points and propel themselves to third in the division.
After Shane Duffy’s own goal, 21-year-old Summerville scored in the 77th and 85th minutes to win the game for the Yorkshire giants against Farke’s former team.
Leeds uploaded a video of Summerville after the match on Instagram, leading to a comment by BBC Radio Leeds pundit McCormack, who said: “Fed up telling yous. Best player in the league.”
Sensational
What a player Summerville is.
You have to hand it to Victor Orta sometimes because even though he signed flop after flop at Elland Road and made some bad managerial calls, he still managed to bring in players like Summerville.
In 2020, the Whites paid just £1.3million to sign the Dutch winger from Feyenoord after he spent a season impressing while out on loan at ADO Den Haag, where he was managed by Alan Pardew.
At Leeds, he’s bided his time, played well for the Under-21s, played well as a substitute for the first team and shone when starting.
Now, he’s probably worth at least 10 times what the Whites paid for him while they’re in the Championship and potentially 30 times more if they’re a Premier League club.
Writing via his personal X account on Saturday (21 October), Fabrizio Romano reported that Summerville has Premier League interest ahead of the January transfer window.
Leeds – and the winger – need to sit tight because if we win promotion this season, he’ll be able to win a bigger move next summer or be able to stay in the squad and play in the top flight again.
