Robin Koch shares six-word update as Leeds United training preps underway in Valencia
Robin Koch has taken to Twitter on Sunday [4 December] to share his reaction as the Leeds United squad have started training in Spain.
The Whites plan to utilise the World Cup break by undergoing intense training sessions in Spain, and Koch has suggested that preparations are underway in Valencia.
Koch suffered a major heartbreak last month after he was not picked by Hansi Flick for the 26-man German squad for the World Cup.
“Back to business. Preps in Valencia,” wrote Koch on Twitter.
Points to prove
Koch couldn’t find a place in the star-studded German side for the World Cup, and it was a big disappointment for him. The 26-year-old joined from Freiburg in the summer of 2020 and struggled badly with fitness in the first two seasons at the club.
He has been a regular player in Jesse Marsch’s side and has made 14 starts in the Premier League so far.
Koch is a very good defender but the stats are not there to back him up. Leeds play a cavalier, gung-ho type football and they are not at all compact in defence.
They create chances, score goals and concede loads of goals as well. In such a scenario, the defenders can manage enviable stats.
Still, Koch manages 1.4 tackles per game, and 1.3 interceptions, as per Who scored.
He could use the World Cup heartbreak as motivation to prove a point to Flick. The training in Spain should be really helpful for the players, but let’s hope they don’t pick up any injuries in the process.
In other Leeds United news, the Whites are aiming to get this “human wrecking ball” out of Elland Road in January.
