Robbie Savage predicts more Leeds United injury hell this season

Robbie Savage has predicted that Leeds United will suffer more injury hell in the Premier League before the end of the season.

The Whites currently have most of their senior squad out through COVID or with injuries, with the Boxing Day trip to Liverpool postponed.

Despite those woes, Savage has backed the Whites to survive relegation to the Championship ahead of Newcastle, Norwich and Watford.

Speaking on William Hill’s Three of the Best, Savage was confident that the Whites will have what it takes to stay up.

“I’m going to go with Norwich and Newcastle,” he said. “It’s one with Burnley, Watford and Leeds.

“I just think Leeds, yes they’ve played three more games than Burnley, five points clear of them, but they have a lot of injuries.

“I think the way they play, they will always pick up injuries because of how dynamic, how much energy they use. I still think they will pick up more injures from now till the end of the season.

“I just think when they get certain players back, they’ll have enough to stay in the Premier League.”

Please, no.

We’re not sure if we can take any more injuries in this squad, it is simply becoming too painful to watch at this moment in time.

One thing that is guaranteed at Elland Raod, though, are injuries, especially with how Marcelo Bielsa pushes his players every single day, whether training or in matches.

Savage is most likely right in predicting more injuries, but hopefully, they won’t all be at the same time like this current hell.

With games being postponed and breaks being mooted, hopefully, that will give us chance to welcome back some big names, then we will start picking up those all-important wins.

Despite the problems, we fans never stop believing, and the lads will have thousands cheering them on for every single minute remaining in this season.

There’s still a long way to go.
