Robbie Savage & Emma Jones: Leeds ace Patrick Bamford should go to EUROs

Robbie Savage has tipped Leeds United forward Patrick Bamford to earn a call up to the England squad for the upcoming European Championships.

Gareth Southgate now has a 26-man squad to play with, rather than the initial 23, and the Whites goal-machine has been on the verge of a call-up all season.

Emma Jones agreed with Savage, as Bamford continues to catch the eye under Marcelo Bielsa in the Premier League.

Speaking on Three of the Best for William Hill on Friday afternoon, Savage was complimentary of the Whites talisman.

“I think he should,” he said.

“Now it’s been enhanced to 26, 15 goals, seven assists, so I think that Patrick Bamford has earned the right to have a chance to play in the EUROs.

“Harry Kane has got to go, Ollie Watkins has done well, Jamie Vardy has obviously retired, so for me, Patrick Bamford should be in the 26-man squad.”

Jones obviously agreed and kept the White flag flying high as she didn’t let it be hidden that she is a huge Leeds fan.

“Needless to say, I certainly agree with you on that.”

What more can he do?

Bamford has been sensational on his return to the Premier League, and he has thrilled everyone with his achievements.

If Southgate doesn’t reward that this summer, then there will be outrage at Elland Road, especially after the squad was extended by three.

Southgate was present during that impressive win over Spurs recently, where Bamford embarrassed Eric Dier, an experienced option in the Three Lions squad.

Bamford is fully deserving of this spot at the European Championships, but goals in his final three matches of the season will all but guarantee it.
