Report: Rangers likely to increase their valuation of Glen Kamara
Finland midfielder Glen Kamara, who is linked with a move to Leeds United this summer, put in a terrific performance on Wednesday despite ending up on the losing side.
He served as a key link between defence and attack and kept things tidy in the middle of the park against a mobile Russian side.
Of the 61 passes he attempted all game, he completed 56 and amassed an impressive pass accuracy of 92 per cent.
In reaction to his performance on Wednesday, The Scotsman reported that Rangers could make a huge profit from his sale this summer.
Rangers are increasingly likely to receive tempting offers for the player whose valuation has grown leaps and bounds since the Glasgow outfit snapped him from Dundee United for a £50,000 fee in January 2019.
Fits in perfectly
Leeds United have been looking for a midfield player since last summer. Rodrigo de Paul and Michael Cuisance were both close to joining, but for different reasons, Victor Orta couldn’t bring them to Elland Road.
Kamara’s addition would be a welcome one and he would fit right into our midfield. Per The Daily Mail, we have been linked with the player.
The Finland international has also been linked to Watford and Southampton, so we would have to be quick if we are to mount a serious push to sign him this summer.
Last summer, we left it very late for a lot of our deals and didn’t end up getting all the players we wanted. Raphinha may have worked out perfectly, but we’ve still lacked depth in the midfield which has seen a number of players being deputised there by Bielsa.
Kamara has two years left on his deal and by the looks of things, is set to impress his other suitors at the EUROs which would only mean that his price and demand in his services is only going to rise.
He’s rated highly by Steven Gerrard as well, who’s referred to him as ‘fantastic.’ [Rangers Twitter]
Let’s see how this one goes, but we would be happy if the club bring him to Elland Road.
