Leeds United have made Celtic striker Odsonne Edouard their number one frontline target this summer, according to the print edition of the Sunday Mirror (p.66).

The Whites have been linked with the Frenchman before by the same outlet, but that was before they had secured promotion back to the Premier League.

Since then, reliable reporter David Anderson has suggested that Marcelo Bielsa’s men are “not in the bidding” for the player.

But in a fresh update, the Mirror have not only doubled down on their initial claims, but also made it clear that the Whites now consider Edouard to be their priority target in this summer’s market.

The report suggests that Celtic would demand around £20 million for their 22-year-old star man.

The former PSG talent struck 27 goals in 45 outings last season, and started this campaign off with a brace against Hamilton Academical.

Edouard would be a fantastic signing for the Whites, we’re sure of it.

The Frenchman has been tearing it up in Scotland for a while now, and looks to have all of the necessary attributes to become a real hit south of the border too.

This is a striker who registered 0.5 more goals per 90 minutes than Patrick Bamford last season, as per Wyscout.

He also had a higher shot accuracy, a higher xG, and made over five more dribbles per match.

With Anderson’s recent update, it looked as if any hope of landing him had all but vanished, but now with the Mirror going as far as to suggest that he is a priority target for Marcelo Bielsa’s men, this is a rumour that could still have a fair distance left to run.

In other Leeds United news, a top club in Europe is interested in hiring this Leeds senior man.
