Leeds United target Julian Draxler could leave PSG in January amid interest from Arsenal, report Spanish outlet Todofichajes.
The German’s contract expires at the end of the season and despite previous reports suggesting he would leave in the summer for free, it seems PSG are trying to secure his exit sooner.
That could see them get something from the transfer of the Germany international.
A surprise move
Draxler is a player with tremendous pedigree but we can’t see a move to Leeds happening.
Marcelo Bielsa is not likely to make any January signings and the 27-year-old would likely demand significant wages, especially with Arsenal interested.
It means we could miss out on signing him for free in the summer.
Draxler – who was described as a “next-level” signing by Athletic journalist Phil Hay – can play attacking midfield or on the left-wing.
But, with Rodrigo and plenty of wingers at the club, it’s not the biggest area of concern.
Despite that, it is still a positive that we are looking at a calibre of player like Draxler.
Paul Robinson suggested the former Wolfsburg man would be an “unbelievable signing”, given his fantastic career and CV, which includes 56 caps for Germany.
He would be a signing in a similar vein to internationals Robin Koch and Diego Llorente, and also an example of Andrea Radrizzani attempting to realise his top-six ambition.
