Reliable journalist: Player says goodbyes at training ground ahead of potential Leeds move

German journalist Florian Plettenberg has said that Michael Cuisance has said his goodbyes at the Sabener Strasse training ground ahead of a move to Leeds United.

Plettenberg, a journalist with SPORT1 in Germany said, “A few minutes ago #Cuisance said goodbye to his teammates at Säbener Straße. He is ready to join #LeedsUnited.”

Cuisance is now expected to head to Leeds to take his medical ahead of a permanent move to Leeds. [Julien Maynard]

Major coup for Leeds

The deal for Cuisance is a permanent one and it looks to be around the £20m level. [Athletic]

It’s great business for Leeds but there’s one big question that fans want to know the answer to now.

The deal is said to include a buy-back clause and fans are desperate to know the details of that.

A buy-back clause is different to a selling club having first option on a player. It means that Bayern could trigger a transfer back for Cuisance, although the clause is likely to have a number of conditions and a set price built-in.

We hope that Bayern can’t trigger a transfer for a number of years, ideally three, and that the price would be set so that Leeds would make a major profit on him if he was sold.

If Leeds are going to buy him for £20m then £50m-£60m would be fantastic business, although we think it’s likely to be lower than that.

We don’t think that Leeds will have sold themselves cheap here, though, and we’re confident that the deal is as good as the club could get for a player who Bayern obviously hope could go onto big things.

That would be a win for both sides.
