Reliable journalist: Leeds youngster on loan list of Huddersfield, worked with Corberan

It has been a number of weeks since Carlos Corberan left Leeds United to take charge of Huddersfield Town.

The Spaniard left Elland Road after years of success with the under-23s, winning the Professional Development League and overseeing the transition to category-one status.

Corberan will have influenced a number of different youngsters, and that could give them an opportunity in the Championship next season.

Huddersfield are after a number of loan signings after struggling with their finances, and another Leeds youngster has emerged as a target.

The Sun journalist Alan Nixon reported on his personal Twitter account on Sunday that the Terriers are interested in Kamil Miazek.

“Polish keeper Miazek on Huddersfield loan list,” he said. “Terriers after two keepers.”

Miazek may not be the only Leeds player to join Huddersfield on loan next season, with Corberan keen to use his ties with the Whites.

Robbie Gotts is another who has been linked with a move across West Yorkshire, with valuable Championship experience available to both under their former boss.

Miazek has been linked with a permanent exit previously but did seem to cement his spot with the under-23s before COVID-19 put an end to the academy season.

The Whites brought in Elia Caprile in January, and that looked like the end for the Pole.

A lot will depend on the future of Kiko Casilla. If the Spaniard leaves, Miazek may be kept at the club to fight for a spot on the bench behind Illan Meslier in the Premier League – an opportunity which may be too good to turn down.
