Ray Parlour has said that Man United would love to have Marcelo Bielsa as their manager but would have no chance of landing him.

His comments will be music to the ears of Leeds fans, who are delighting in seeing their bitter rivals struggle under Ole Gunnar Solskjær.

United are in 15th place in the league and just four points off the bottom three.

Talking on the Breakfast show on Friday morning, Parlour was discussing the possibility of Mauricio Pochettino taking over at United.

“I’m sure as we speak they’ll be sounding him out [Poch], does he want to get back into football, but he’ll be a bit concerned,” Parlour said. “He’ll want to know where the club is going.”

“There are other managers they’d love but can’t get like Bielsa at Leeds United, who’s doing a fantastic job. Imagine… his teams always work hard.”

Bielsa would never go to United

We don’t think Marcelo Bielsa would ever go to Man United.

Bielsa is a football man through-and-through and has more honour in his little finger than most managers do in their entire bodies.

He’s fallen in love with the club and the city of Leeds and he knows the bitter rivalry that exists between the two clubs.

We also can’t imagine a club and group of players less suited to Bielsa at the moment.

He holds no truck with star names and can’t imagine him wanting anything to do with the likes of Paul Pogba.

Parlour has got it bang on. Man United would love Bielsa but there’s just no way on earth it’s ever going to happen.

And that simple fact will make a lot of Leeds fans very happy.
