Raphinha now willing to go to ‘war’ to seal Leeds United exit to join Barcelona

Leeds United star Raphinha is now willing to go to “war” in order to seal his exit from Elland Road this summer, according to SPORT.

The Spanish outlet have reported on their website that the Brazilian remains the number one choice at the Nou Camp, despite their financial difficulties.

It is suggested that the Catalan giants are “moderately optimistic” regarding a deal, despite Leeds being inflexible in negotiations as they continue.

Leeds staying in the Premier League means that the ball is firmly in their court.

Raphinha has two years remaining on his current deal at Elland Road, and Phil Hay has already reported it may take a bid between £60million and £70million to seal an exit.

Barcelona cannot pay anywhere near that, and it appears as though the Whites are standing firm in talks.

The winger can go to war all he likes, but all he will do is tarnish is reputation at the club, with not one player bigger than this side.

Leeds

Joke.

Raphinha needs to think very carefully about this.

All of this appears to have stemmed from Deco, his agent, jumping the gun far too early and selling a dream to his client that a move to Barcelona is possible.

No matter how big they are, this is a club in a financial ruin that can’t even register two new signings, Franck Kessie and Andreas Christensen due to that.

Leeds have every right to demand this money, especially given how he was handed the stage to earn his spot in the Brazil squad ahead of the World Cup later in 2022.

If Barcelona think they can pay around £25million, they are having a laugh and need to get their own finances in order before they even think about launching an embarrassing, insulting offer such as that.

This is going to continue across the summer, but the final message is clear, if you want this transfer, shut up and pay the money.
