Raphinha moment of brilliance leaves Sky Sports pundit speechless in Leeds United v Watford

David Phillips was thrilled by Raphinha’s first touch in the Premier League match between Leeds United and Watford on Saturday.

As many expected, the Whites started the game on the front foot and dominated possession and grabbed the early chances.

Defender Diego Llorente played a long ball into the Brazilian’s stride and he controlled it perfectly and looked to threaten the Watford goal before winning his side a corner.

Speaking on the Premier League world feed, Phillips, a Sky Sports pundit, said, “Wow. Beautiful touch from Raphinha. Lovely ball from Llorente.”

The Brazilian later went on to score the opening goal of the game.

Class act

One can never get tired of watching Raphinha have a go at opposition defenders.

They immediately retreat a few steps after they see the Brazilian running towards them.

That is down to his trickery and ability to beat players on technical ability as well as pace.

He’s also a lethal finisher so it makes little sense to allow him to go through on goal.

Leeds fans will be hoping that this is not the Brazilian’s farewell tour as there clearly are a lot of teams circling around him.

His agent Deco appears to be angling him towards a move to the club he played for his in his professional career in Barcelona.

The Catalan Giants are currently cash-strapped so that could be the saving grace for Leeds this summer.

Liverpool’s interest in him also appears to have cooled after they signed Luis Diaz.

In other Leeds United news, the Whites are leading the race to complete a major signing and have already opened talks to seal a £25m deal.
