Raphinha and Deco give Leeds United and Barcelona 48-hour deadline to sort transfer

Raphinha and his agent Deco have reportedly given Barcelona and Leeds United a deadline of 48 hours to sort the financials of the deal.

According to Goal on July 8, they will re-enter talks with Chelsea if the two clubs cannot reach an agreement with the Brazilian open to moving to Stamford Bridge.

It’s also understood that Arsenal are now all but out of the race despite being the favourites to sign him a few weeks ago.

Monday announcement?

The deadline was given the two clubs on Friday so it will pass on Sunday and if they’ve reached an agreement, then well and good.

An official announcement can be made and the transfer can quickly be completed with personal terms agreed upon long ago.

In case, the deal falls through, we hope that Chelsea have a proposal ready which is acceptable to Deco and the Brazilian and they can then proceed with that transfer.

Leeds’ transfer activity is far from finished this summer and they surely will be needing funds to complete those deals.

Raphinha is set to be their record sale and that will make the club’s net spend positive for this summer.

Victor Orta has done a good job getting in six new players, but we’re expecting three more before the window closes.

Hopefully, we see some progress towards signing a left-back as well as a striker as they’re two priority positions.

In other Leeds United, a Whites defender heavily admired by Marcelo Bielsa could permanently seal his permanent exit this summer with there being genuine interest in his services.
