Queens Park Rangers likely to seal permanent transfer for Leeds United attacker Tyler Roberts on one condition
Queens Park Rangers are reportedly likely to sign Leeds United attacker Tyler Roberts permanently if they stay in the Championship.
According to the Yorkshire Evening Post, an injury boost for the Welshman has now seen the buy option returning to the negotiation table.
The 24-year-old’s season looked to be over but an injury boost is expected to see him feature regularly for the London-based club who may consider signing him permanently.
Via Twitter, YEP wrote, “QPR have an option to sign Roberts permanently this summer, which is more likely to be exercised if they remain in the second tier.”
Time to go
Roberts had some good times under Marcelo Bielsa but it was pretty evident that the Argentine managed to get the best out of him because of his system.
The high pressing and off-the-ball man marking suited him as he was willing to put in the hard yards and run through brick walls.
As a striker, Roberts is expected to contribute to goals and assists and that aspect of his game is lacking and he’s still not able to do it in the Championship.

In 18 league games this season, he’s just bagged three goals which is not a return one would want from a player in positions to score goals.
He has played centrally as well as on the right wing, but his output has been underwhelming, to say the least.
Nobody at Leeds will have seen his performances this season and thought that he was someone worth bringing in and that says a lot about how they rate him.
