Premier League make Leeds United announcement

Leeds United can clinch promotion to the Premier League with a victory over Stoke on Monday if other results go their way.

The Whites will have to beat Stoke on Monday afternoon and hope that Sheffield United fail to beat promotion rivals Burnley in an evening kickoff.

But star man Dan James is absent from Daniel Farke’s matchday squad, while 16-year-old Harry Gray has been named on the bench.

If Leeds do not win promotion on Monday, they will be able to get the job done via a victory over playoff hopefuls Bristol City in their penultimate game on 28 April.

Premier League share how Leeds and Burnley can win promotion on Monday

While both the Whites and Burnley can win automatic promotion on Monday, the Premier League have officially informed their followers how both Farke’s men and the Clarets can clinch their top-flight spot on Monday.

The Premier League posted on X: “Premier League promotion can be sealed TODAY.

“If Leeds and Burnley both win they’ll be guaranteed to finish in the Championship automatic promotion places!”

Gray can make a special afternoon for Leeds even more memorable

Even if Sheffield United beat Burnley after Leeds’ encounter with Stoke on Monday, the Whites will still have all but sealed their promotion to the Premier League with a victory over the Potters.

Leeds head into their battle with Stoke after three straight wins

If Farke’s men emerge victorious, it will be a memorable afternoon for the Elland Road faithful, who will be both excited and anxious to see their side clinch automatic promotion to the top flight as soon as possible after suffering a defeat in last season’s playoff final.

But a special day in the West Yorkshire club’s modern history could become all the more notable if young academy product Gray makes his Whites senior debut on a potentially fateful afternoon.

Gray’s older brother Archie made the Leeds faithful incredibly proud with his performances in the Championship last season before his move to Tottenham, and now Harry could be handed an opportunity to follow in his footsteps.

Above all, though, Farke’s side must get the job done against a Stoke side who are yet to secure their second-tier status.
