It’s been a tough 2020 but the single scariest moment was the first quarter of the game against Man City. Rodrigo will be the saviour this season.

Former Leeds United centre-back Pontus Jansson sent a Twitter message of praise to Liam Cooper after the game against Palace on Monday night.

Leeds won 2-0 and moved into 10th in the Premier League, ahead of Arsenal, and also hit some other milestones.

Patrick Bamford scored his 100th career goal, while it was Kalvin Phillips' 200th appearance for Leeds.

For Cooper, it was another clean sheet against established top-flight opposition.

Cooper posted a message saying, "Some night under the lights! Congrats to the boys @Kalvinphillips 200 up. @Patrick_Bamford on 100 career goals! Some achievements. All focus on a trip to the emirates. MOT"

Jansson replied saying, "You had a fantastic game my friend. Happy to see and follow your journey in Prem."

Cult hero

Pontus Jansson was a cult hero at Leeds but he did things his own way and that led to a  falling out between him and Bielsa.

There was only ever going to be one winner in that and Jansson was shipped out to Brentford in a surprise move.

That meant he missed out on the Premier League and it must be hard for him to watch the current Leeds side do so well in the top-flight.

However, he's showing no signs of bitterness at all and there were plenty of Leeds fans who still hold a torch for their towering centre-back.

Some would like to see him come back but that's almost certainly not going to happen while Bielsa is at the club.

His replacement was Ben White and he was a definite upgrade, although he was only on loan.

With injuries to Diego Llorente and Robin Koch, and Pascal Struijk deputising alongside Liam Cooper, the backline is far from as settled as it was last season with White at the helm.
