Leeds United have been linked with a move for former Brazilian international Douglas Costa and some fans are thrilled at the prospect.

However, it's not all good news.

The report, in Fichajes, claims that he has been earmarked as a replacement for Raphinha, Leeds' current Brazilian winger.

It claims that Liverpool are lining up a £35m offer for Raphinha in the summer and that Costa would be the man Bielsa would turn to if he left for the Premier League champions.

Costa comes with quite a CV – 45 goal involvements in 96 games for Bayern Munich, where he's currently on loan until the end of the season.

He's delivered wherever he's been with 78 goal involvements in 202 games for Shakhtar Donetsk and 31 in 103 for parent club Juventus.

He's reportedly got no future at Juventus where he's under contract until 2022. They signed him for £36m in 2018.

However, there are two big reasons why we don't think it's going to happen.

Firstly, he's 31 and on the way down in his career, compared to Raphinha at 24.

Also, he's got a very suspect injury record, missing 13 games for Juve in the 19/20 season, across three different periods.

We can't imagine anyone that less fits the profile for Leeds at the moment.

However, some fans are thrilled to be linked with such a big name, with one saying, "He is a million times better than the Costa we already have."
