We’re delighted to welcome injury expert Dr Rajpal Brar as our exclusive columnist. Each week he’ll be giving his views on the injury situation at Leeds United...

Leeds United attacker Rodrigo has been dealing with plantar fasciitis (an inflammation of the fibrous tissue) for a long term, claims Dr Rajpal Brar.

The injury expert asserts that Sam Allardyce may be handed another attacking blow v Tottenham Hotspur as he’s expressed doubts about Patrick Bamford’s availability as well.

The Spaniard’s injury will undoubtedly be tested daily and it remains to be seen if the medical staff green-lights his availability for the must-win game against Spurs on Sunday, 28 May.

Speaking exclusively to MOT Leeds News, Brar, a specialist in Physical Therapy and Sports Scientist, said on Rodrigo, “He’s been dealing with plantar fasciitis for a long while now and it’s something that can be managed on a day-to-day basis.

His availability really just depends on how it responds to treatment and to training but he is a doubt v Spurs.”

The Spaniard has been clutch for Leeds in front of goal, scoring 13 goals in 30 appearances and his absence has been missed in games he’s been unavailable.

Even in the loss against West Ham, Big Sam continued to play him even though he was injured, in the hopes that he would find the back of the net.

However, that did not happen and he’s only given a 25 per cent chance of being available for the game. [Ben Dinnery]

In other Leeds United news, Phil Hay claims that an international player at Elland Road has no place at the club next season and a summer transfer is on the cards.
