Phil Hay shares latest on Leeds United contract talks with Kalvin Phillips
Phil Hay has shared that little progress has been made on a new contract for Leeds United midfielder Kalvin Phillips.
It is suggested that after speaking with the club, they understand that they need to pay the Yorkshire Pirlo what he is worth.
The good news is that there is commitment on both sides to get a new deal over the line with interest surely just around the corner.

Speaking in the latest episode of the Phil Hay Show, nothing appears to be imminent at Elland Road.
“I don’t think that has really made any progress,” he said. “Although, I wouldn’t have said either side, that him or the club feel an urgent rush to get it done.
“There does seem to be commitment on Phillips’ side to speak about it, the commitment on Leeds side to renegotiate, to pay more and to understand because he is an England international and one of the pick of the players, he should be earning more.
“No, I don’t think there’s been much in the way of progress. You can’t spend more than you can afford to spend, but equally, you can’t hang on to assets of high value and high worth if you don’t pay them what they’re worth
“You can tell by speaking to Leeds, they completely understand that with Phillips.”

Get it done.
There are simply no excuses as to why this deal cannot get done.
Leeds need to tie down their better players, and where better to start than right at the top with Phillips and Raphinha?
Not only does it secure their spot in the squad, but it also protects their value given that both will no doubt have some big teams calling for them in the summer, or maybe even in January.
Phillips will never want to leave the club, but we all have to be realistic and admit that his ambition may take over in the years to come.
It’s time for the Whites to cough up and pay him the wage that he deserves to be on, and who knows? It could end up being the catalyst to him staying and the club and helping us push towards Europe.
