Phil Hay: Raphinha should be back for Leeds United v Brighton

Phil Hay has shared that Leeds United winger Raphinha should be back available for the Premier League clash against Brighton.

The Whites travel south on Saturday evening looking to avenge that close-run defeat against Spurs last time out.

Raphinha missed that one through illness after the international break, although Hay expects that to be the only one he sits out.

Writing on his personal Twitter account, Hay shared whether he expects the Brazilian to be back available on the south coast.

“Raphinha is illness so that will be as and when but you’d hope okay for Brighton,” he wrote.

“Haven’t been given a timescale on Rodrigo. Ayling’s getting there though.”

After that, Hay went on to share that it hasn’t been confirmed if the illness was COVID-19 related, which is hopefully good news.

Everything crossed.

This is the news that everyone was hoping for ahead of the trip to Brighton.

If you asked every fan to pick only one player to return ahead of Saturday, we are quite certain that nearly 100% of them would say Raphinha.

There were worries that it could have been COVID-19 after the winger travelled to Brazil during the international break, but it looks as though the travel has just caught up with him.

Kalvin Phillips also gave us all a heart attack when cutting his head on a night-out in London over the weekend, but he should also be fine and available.

Hopefully, Rodrigo can join those two and make it a much stronger squad for Marcelo Bielsa to choose from as he looks for a vitally important three points.
