Phil Hay shares if Patrick Bamford could start for Leeds United v Brentford

Phil Hay has shared that there would be no logic behind Patrick Bamford not being involved for Leeds United against Brentford.

The Whites welcome the Bees to Elland Road tomorrow (December 5th) with the striker set to be involved for the first time since September.

Hay insisted that if Bamford has gone through murderball this week, he could even start for Marcelo Bielsa.

Speaking on the Phil Hay Show this week (3rd December), he shared what he expects to happen with our talisman.

“Bamford did 90 minutes against Manchester City (under-23s), which wasn’t planned but he came through it,” he said.

“With Bielsa, it’s not always just about minutes with the under-23s. If, and I don’t know if they have gone through murderball this week and his stats are there, it might show they are ready.

“I just couldn’t see any logic with Bamford, in particular, I couldn’t see any logic keeping him out.”

Get him in?

Should Bamford start tomorrow, there would be huge cheers up and down West Yorkshire as he finally returns.

Whatever happens and whatever Bielsa decides to do, he is certain to be in the squad and on the bench at a minimum.

Tyler Roberts led the line against Crystal Palace on Tuesday (30th November) and caught the eye with his non-stop running.

The Welshman would find himself unlucky not to keep his spot, but when your star striker is back available, the decision is usually taken out of your hands.

All eyes are already on the teamsheet at 1 pm tomorrow afternoon, with Luke Ayling also another who could make an appearance – bring it on.
