Phil Hay has named exciting academy talent Nohan Kenneh as “One to watch” at Leeds United this season in the Premier League.
Marcelo Bielsa has handed chances to numerous options in the under-23s already this season, with Joe Gelhardt and Niall Huggins the latest duo.
The holding midfielder, who can also play in the heart of defence as been touted as a big prospect at Thorp Arch, and could be the next to make the jump into the senior squad.
Writing in an Athletic Q&A ahead of the Premier League clash with Wolves on Friday evening, Hay singled out Kenneh for praise.
“Kenneh is always touted as a big prospect in the academy but we haven’t seen him move into first-team squad contention yet,” he wrote.
“One to watch though.”
Having watched the under-23s closely for a number of years, we can safely say that Kenneh is certainly one of those destined for great things at Elland Road.
The 18-year-old signed his first professional contract with the club last January and has gone from strength-to-strength since.
Paris Saint-Germain have been interested in Kenneh in the past, and a jump into the first-team squad could see others try and make a move for the enforcer.
Kenneh is doing all the right things, and we expect him to be in the first-team squad for atleast one Premier League clash this season.
Of course, that depends on injuries, but knowing our luck, it won’t be long until he is needed by Bielsa and the Whites.
