Phil Hay: Leeds United still have five doubts despite COVID-19 break this week

Phil Hay has shared the latest news on Leeds United injuries this week after COVID-19 finally hit the squad.

The Whites have seen games against Liverpool and Aston Villa postponed in the Premier League, which could be perfect given their current injury status.

Hay has shared the latest, and it still isn’t good news with the likes of Jack Harrison, Patrick Bamford, Rodrigo, Pascal Struijk and Dan James all remaining doubts this week.

Writing in his latest piece for The Athletic, Hay shared the latest ahead of the next scheduled clash against Burnley.

“Patrick Bamford, Rodrigo, Pascal Struijk and Dan James have more minor problems but were all doubts for the Anfield fixture.

“Jack Harrison’s involvement was in question too after he limped out of the loss to Arsenal with a dead leg.”

Doubts.

Given that the Christmas fixtures come thick and fast regardless of postponements, it looks as though much hasn’t changed.

Leeds still have five doubts within their squad, and the clock is ticking towards the game against Burnley on Sunday.

The muscle injuries such as the ones picked up by the likes of James and Bamford mean that they will likely be missing.

Harrison will likely recover in time from his dead leg, with Struijk and Rodrigo needing time to get rest up to heal their bone impact problems.

All three of those could have needed this two-game break to recover, and fingers crossed they could be able to have some say against Burnley.
