Phil Hay: Leeds United know high likelihood Calvin Ramsay picks Liverpool transfer this summer
Leeds United now know there is a high likelihood of Aberdeen defender Calvin Ramsay opting for Liverpool, according to Phil Hay.
The Athletic journalist has shared updates as the Whites were working on a deal to sign the 18-year-old Scottish sensation ahead of the Reds.
It appears that the Whites have now started to look elsewhere, with a £10million deal for RB Salzburg enforcer Rasmus Kristensen already mooted.

Writing in his latest piece for The Athletic on Tuesday morning [31 May], Hay shared an update on a potential move for the young right-back this summer.
“Leeds have spent time closely tracking a different right-back, Aberdeen’s 18-year-old prospect Calvin Ramsay,” he wrote.
“But, he is wanted by Liverpool and Leeds know there is a high likelihood of Ramsay opting for Anfield over Elland Road.”

Moving on?
Victor Orta may have been tracking Ramsay for quite some time, but it is positive that another name has already been thrown onto the table from his shortlist for each position.
Kristensen would be much closer to consistent first-team action with his experience of winning titles with RB Salzburg and playing consistent European football – the latest in the Champions League.
With Brenden Aaronson already arriving from the Austrian champions, could one swift call from the American persuade the Dane that Elland Road is the right place?
Orta will already have a good relationship with Salzburg too after agreeing to a summer deal for Aaronson back in January rather than forcing it or turning his nose up.
As for Ramsay, we want players in West Yorkshire who are desperate to pull on that white shirt, not those who can’t make up their minds because of other clubs.
Anyway, we’re sure sitting on the bench at Liverpool for years will be enough of a carrot to take.
