Phil Hay has insisted that Leeds United have no intentions of signing Arsenal forward Eddie Nketiah in January.

Speculation has been rising in recent weeks with the former loanee not signing a new contract at The Emirates.

Hay has been "told" that the Whites will not be one of the clubs who could look at a potential deal in the upcoming window.

Writing in the comments section of his latest piece for The Athletic, Hay shared what he has heard about a potential deal.

"From what I’m told, Leeds don’t intend to go back for Nketiah," he said.

Leave it in the past.

There is no need to start looking back at the past, Leeds and Nketiah have both moved on in the past couple of years.

The Whites do need a new striker, that is evident, with Patrick Bamford struggling with injuries throughout the season.

In a major boost, though, Bamford himself has declared himself as "touch and go" for the Burnley clash on Sunday afternoon.

It would be brilliant news, and bring down the need for a new attacker.

Victor Orta will also know that a new midfielder is on the cards, and this news for Bamford means that he can put most of his eggs in that basket.

There are set to be numerous names linked with a move to Elland Road over the next month, and Nketiah will be the first of many to come and go.
