Phil Hay: Leeds to be missing three players v Brighton

Leeds United are set to be without three first-team players for their Premier League clash against Brighton on Saturday.

Phil Hay shared the news this afternoon with Luke Ayling, Patrick Bamford and Robin Kock to miss out at the AMEX.

Ayling is set to play for the under-23s on Monday, as they take on the tough challenge of Manchester City away from home.

Writing on his personal Twitter account, Hay shared who would be missing on the south coast after numerous boosts.

“Bielsa speaking at his pre-Brighton press conference,” he said.

“Injury latest – Ayling will play with the 23s on Monday. “He’s healthy now – it’s a step to his total recovery.” Rodrigo, Raphinha and Shackleton are available. Bamford and Koch still ‘finishing their periods of recovery’.”

Hurry up.

Not that we want to rush this trio back from their serious injuries, but it would be amazing to finally have a full-strength squad to choose from.

With Ayling back playing on Monday, he is also likely to miss the Crystal Palace game on Tuesday evening, meaning he will be back against Brentford.

Koch and Bamford have been pictured in training this week, and given their long-term problems, they will likely play for the under-23s first.

With two games until Brentford come to Elland Road, it could be a realistic target to have a full squad back available for then.

As for now, this is probably as good as Bielsa could have hoped for ahead of the game with Brighton on Saturday evening.
