Phil Hay: Incomings are focus at Leeds United in January, outgoings unlikely
Phil Hay has insisted that Leeds United selling players in January is highly unlikely as things stand at Elland Road.
The Whites are currently going through an injury crisis and things aren’t looking like getting better any time soon.
Marcelo Bielsa nearly has a full starting XI of players injured, with Hay sharing that the headcount is too low to consider any exits.

Writing in his Transfer Mailbag for The Athletic, Hay shared that the club are in no position to push anyone out of the club.
“Incomings are the focus,” he wrote. “And I can’t disagree with you. Leeds aren’t really in a position where they can be moving players on unless they have a ready-made replacement set up.
“The headcount is too low as it is. I can honestly say that I’ve never seen a selection crisis like this. Not even close.”

No chance.
The likes of Tyler Roberts have been heavily linked with the exit door in recent months, but he has stepped up in the Premier League.
With the likes of Patrick Bamford and Rodrigo missing through injury, the Welshman has been forced to step up and lead the line – scoring only once.
Looking at other potential exits, the likes of Mateusz Klich will have wanted more football earlier in the season and the ongoing crisis has led to that.
Leeds need to solely focus on incoming in January, and bolstering this squad properly could be the difference between staying in the Premier League or dropping to the Championship.
