Leeds United have been linked with two new players over the past week, Rafinha from Barcelona and Julian Draxler from PSG.
The latter got Leeds fans particularly excited after it was reported by RMC on Tuesday that the Whites were trying to persuade him to move to Elland Road.
Sky Sports journalist Fabrizio Romano said the PSG player was “on the list” on Wednesday afternoon.
Crysencio Summerville is set to join Leeds from Feyenoord – as per @DiMarzio. Total agreement reached for the Dutch winger. Talks on for Rodrigo de Paul but Udinese don’t want to negotiate for less than €40m – still no agreement, Draxler is on the list too. ⚪️ #LUFC #transfers

However, Athletic journalist Phil Hay was ready with the cold water on the latest episode of the Totally Football podcast.
Hay said of Rafinha and Draxler, “I don’t see either of those two signing but the links to Rodrigo De Paul are very real and very strong.
“It hasn’t really moved forward since it broke a couple of weeks again and Leeds said privately after the signing of Koch from Freiburg that they would likely sit still until after the season started.
“They will try to do a winger, they will try to get a number 10 in the De Paul mould. If there was a player who would fit both then they might only need one signing.
“They haven’t gone back in for Ryan Kent but he is someone who can play centrally or out wide. I think they will get another centre-back. They no longer have Berardi who suffered a really bad knee injury and I don’t see him playing again this season. I think they still need cover there.”
Draxler always seemed like a fantasy football signing but even getting mentioned around players like this shows how far Leeds have come.
To be fair, Rodrigo and Rodrigo De Paul are players that occupy the same rare air as Draxler and the latter could be the ultimate number 10 signing for Leeds.
That could still happen but it sounds like Leeds fans are going to have to be patient.
Ryan Kent said he wanted to stay at Rangers and Leeds won’t try to sign someone who doesn’t want to play for the club.
One player who did want to play for Leeds was Daniel James and the winger, who has now ended up at Man United, is still ‘firmly admired’ by Marcelo Bielsa according to Hay.
De Paul, James and another centre-back would do us absolutely fine but it’s already been a good summer as this list shows.
