Athletic journalist Phil Hay has delivered a key fitness update on three Leeds United players – Rodrigo, Kalvin Phillips and Diego Llorente.
First the good news. Hay says that Rodrigo will be back after his positive test for Covid-19.
That’s a big boost for Leeds who are reeling from two successive 4-1 defeats and Pablo Hernandez being dropped after a petulant reaction in the game against Leicester.
Kalvin Phillips has a chance of being back and Arsenal was the best-case target after his injury.
Phillips himself is hopeful after saying he was going to get an injection to help him play.
Hay claims that Llorente will depend on “what Bielsa makes of his fitness”.
Rodrigo yes. Arsenal was the first game they thought Phillips might make. Llorente will depend on what Bielsa makes of his fitness

Getting Rodrigo back is a massive boost for Leeds just when they need it.
He’s been a standout in the no.10 role and dominated Villa in the recent 3-0 win.
The worry was always that he could suffer a longer reaction to testing positive to Covid-19 but it looks like he’s over it and fully fit.
It also seems like Leeds are going to pull out the stops to get Kalvin Phillips back in the side.
Diego Llorente is the big unknown at the moment. He was initially slated to be back for the Leicester game but missed that and the Palace game.
That’s a real worry for Leeds and we hope that Llorente doesn’t turn into the next Adam Forshaw.
Leeds fans will also be hoping that their international players come back unscathed and with no new Covid-19 scares.
Most teams are playing three fixtures in this international break which seems ludicrous to us given what’s going on in the world.
