Paul Tierney to submit ‘Extraordinary’ report to FA over Leeds v Manchester United, partial Elland Road closure possible – report
Paul Tierney is set to submit an “extraordinary” report to the FA after Leeds fell to defeat against Manchester United on Sunday.
ESPN have reported that the FA will wait to make any decision until they have examined that report from numerous incidents.
Anything from a fine to a partial closure of Elland Road is possible after objects were thrown and pyrotechnics were used.
As for matters on the pitch, numerous charges are also expected.
It is said that Leeds will be hit by an automatic £25,000 fine for failing to control their players through the fierce clash.
The Whites picked up six bookings throughout the game, which leads to the fine that will need to be paid by Andrea Radrizzani.
This isn’t the first time Leeds fans have caused trouble this season, meaning that a partial closure could be closing in.
Surely not.
It is never brilliant to see your rivals leave your own patch with three points, but some fan behaviour has become embarrassing this season.
These are grown men throwing objects onto the pitch, and if they are caught they must be banned.
We know that the players were taunting fans, but you have to expect that in games such as this, we would love it if our players had done the same after a big win.
If it comes down to something as extreme as this, would there be massive complaints? It has happened numerous times now, with objects flying onto the pitch every single week it seems.
