Paul Merson predicts Leeds clash v Leicester City

Paul Merson has backed Leeds United to take a point from Leicester City in the Premier League on Sunday afternoon.

The Whites welcome the Foxes to Elland Road looking to end the latest batch of fixtures with a bang before the international break.

The Sky Sports pundit has predicted that it will finish 2-2 between the sides with goals set to be on the menu in West Yorkshire.

Writing in his prediction column for Sportskeeda this week, Merson recalled the clash from Elland Road last season.

“I remember this game from last year – Leicester won the match by a 4-1 margin, but Leeds were impressive on the day,” he said.

“Leicester are struggling a bit in the Premier League at the moment. They lost to Arsenal last weekend and it now looks like they’ll also be out of the Europa League.

“Leeds are also finding it quite difficult in the Premier League. They got a good result against Norwich last week but they weren’t particularly impressive. Leicester aren’t too bad, but I thought they would do better than they are. I see both sides playing out a draw this weekend.”

End to end.

This has all the writing of a game that is expected to be all-out carnage.

Leicester, like Leeds, have plenty of pace available to them and love to use it on the counterattack if given the chance to.

That is how the Foxes ended up leaving Elland Road last season with a 4-1 win despite having less of the ball, Leeds simply couldn’t handle the likes of Jamie Vardy.

Having said that, they learned their lesson at the King Power and left with a big win of their own, so this one will be a very interesting watch.

Hopefully, Bielsa can work his magic yet again and make it a perfect two weeks before the latest international break next week.
