Patrick Bamford has surprise non-league club role as he prepares for Leeds ‘axe’

Patrick Bamford’s future at Leeds United is uncertain as he continues his role in non-league football.

The experienced striker has had a difficult 2024-25 campaign for the experienced striker as he has struggled for form and has received a lack of minutes from Daniel Farke.

The Yorkshire giants are pushing for a return to the Premier League and currently sit top of the Championship, but Bamford is only expected to have a bit-part role in their efforts to finish the season in style.

Leeds have no margin for error right now as they are joint on points with Sheffield United, and Burnley sit just two behind them.

Patrick Bamford has a footballing role away from Leeds

Luckily for Bamford, he does have a job within football that has nothing to do with Leeds United, which many fans aren’t aware of.

The former England international is an honorary president of the club and is someone who has lent his support throughout that time, including opening up their new stands.

Patrick Bamford could be axed this summer

Leeds had attempted to offload the 32-year-old during the January window but were unsuccessful, and it is widely believed the Whites will try to repeat that in the summer.

Former Leeds goalkeeper Paul Robinson has previously revealed that Daniel Farke will need to make some “brutal” decisions, and Bamford is expected to be part of that.

The striker has played a huge role in Leeds’ recent history in the Championship and the Premier League, but his struggles to regain form after his injury problems have become increasingly apparent.

His performances have led to frustration among Leeds supporters, and that’s something that is only going to increase the pressure on Farke this summer.
