Patrick Bamford escape route opens up at Leeds United as offers tabled for him to quit Elland Road for good
Patrick Bamford reportedly has offers to quit Leeds United in the summer and given the club’s difficult position in the Premier League table, an escape has somewhat opened up for him to quit Elland Road.
According to Spanish outlet Fichajes, the 29-year-old already has “has many proposals to change the air and go to a club with more sporting aspirations” with the Whites lining up a move for Real Madrid’s Brazilian striker Mariano if Bamford leaves.
The Elland Road fan favourite has struggled to find his best form again this past year after returning from a long injury layoff back in February 2022.

Since then, he’s only managed four goals in all competitions losing his place in the team as a result of Rodrigo’s terrific form.
Right now, the 29-year-old’s career is at a crossroads at Elland Road, and with Leeds United’s difficult situation in the Premier League relegation battle especially after Sunday’s [9 April] dreadful 5-1 defeat to Crystal Palace, Bamford may well be giving his future in West Yorkshire second thoughts.
Leeds United have already been linked with several striker targets to replace him for the long-term, even after signing Georginio Rutter for £35.5m [Sky Sports, 15 January] in January.
However, Bamford has recently come back into Gracia’s thinking in recent weeks after Rodrigo’s injury but is yet to set Elland Road alight like he used to.
The former Middlesbrough striker found the back of the net against Palace, but it was yet another uneventful performance [Sofascore] as the Whites simply could not live with the Eagles’ impressive transformation in the second half.
With the Whites wrapped in a nerve-wrenching and tight relegation battle, Gracia will desperately be needing 100% performance levels from his men but isn’t getting that from Bamford right now, which means the Spaniard may certainly rethink his spot in the first XI with the extremely pivotal Rodrigo waiting in the wings for a start, after his own brief injury issue.

Relegation is certainly still in the picture after Sunday’s disappointing drubbing and Bamford may well have a promising exit strategy after the report suggesting he has offers elsewhere.
And considering Leeds United are already on the lookout for potential replacements, that could well push the 29-year-old further out the Elland Road exit door this summer. A potentially sorry end to a big-name player who has brought much joy to the club fans for many seasons.
