Patrick Bamford days away from Leeds United exit after £30k-a-week reveal

Patrick Bamford would be forgiven if he was not feeling the Christmas spirit at Leeds United, after another cold evening on the bench at Elland Road.

The Whites stormed back to the top of the Championship with a huge 3-1 win against Middlesbrough on Tuesday 10 December.

Mateo Joseph started the game up front for Daniel Farke, with Joel Piroe coming on to help seal the points with an assist for Daniel James.

Bamford trudged off the pitch at full-time with no minutes again, and it looks as though the striker is getting used to his new role on the sideline, wrapped in his blanket.

How much does Patrick Bamford earn at Leeds United?

Not many players will be on a similar level to the England international in the Championship, especially as a bench option, with Bamford bringing home £30,000-a-week in LS11 [Football League Paper].

That is a huge amount for someone who has yet to start a game this season.

Bamford has made seven appearances from the bench, his latest in the 1-0 defeat at Blackburn on 30 November, totalling only 77 minutes.

Something crazy about that total is that Georginio Rutter, who left Elland Road for Brighton on 20 August has still played more minutes for Leeds this season, in one game.

How can someone on so much money make so little impact?

With the January transfer window fast approaching in 20 days, it appears that we are only days away from Bamford being shown the back door by the 49ers Enterprises.

The striker would surely have been desperate to get on the pitch against his former side, one that has seen fans take aim at him in the past, but he looked happy to walk off the pitch with zero minutes yet again at full-time.

Bamford and Leeds has been a love-hate relationship at the best of times, but it looks to finally be coming to an end at Elland Road.
