Noel Whelan reacts to Leeds United 2-2 draw v Brentford
Leeds United left it late to pick up a point against Brentford at Elland Road on Sunday, with Patrick Bamford coming off the bench to grab a late equaliser in the 2-2 draw.
The striker had been out injured since September, and he showed exactly why he has been missed with a fine finish that left Noel Whelan thrilled on his personal Twitter account.
The Whites were 1-0 up before the visitors bounced back to race to a 2-1 lead today (5 December), but the one-cap England international had other ideas, rescuing a point for his side that made Whelan very happy.

The former Leeds star said: “Get in, Bam Bam Bamford.”
Top player
Marcelo Bielsa’s side have secured all of their three victories of 2021-22 without Bamford, but they have hugely missed his impact and he produced the goods instantly upon his return.
No Leeds player has assisted more goals (2) than the striker this season despite the fact that he was unavailable for nine games.
Only Raphinha has been involved in more goals than the four the Whites hitman has had a hand in, and that speaks volumes.
The Yorkshire outfit travel to Stamford Bridge to face Chelsea on Saturday (11 December) before a trip to the Etihad Stadium to take on Manchester City three days later.

Arsenal visit Elland Road next before Leeds visit Liverpool on Boxing Day, and having Bamford back for those games is a massive boost.
Having picked up four points from their last two games, the Whites need to do better going forward, and they will fancy their chances now that the Englishman has returned to their attack.
In other Leeds United news, a major update on Whites January bid to sign attacker has been provided, with pen-to-paper imminent.
