New update on Nahitan Nandez to Leeds United emerges
The situation regarding Leeds United and their move for Cagliari midfielder Nahitan Nandez could be resolved in the “next few days”, according to a report from La Nuova Sardegna.
They state that Leeds are continuing to “monitor the situation” and that everything should be cleared up in the next few days regarding the Whites’ proposed bid for a player they have been heavily linked with.
However, the likes of the Yorkshire Evening Post have reported that Nandez is not a target for Leeds, so it is unclear what will actually happen next regarding the 25-year-old Uruguayan, but this latest report seems to suggest that a decision is looming.
Will Nandez join Leeds?
There have been so many reports from Italy regarding Nandez’s potential move to Elland Road, and it is hard to believe all of them, especially considering the YEP insist he isn’t a target.
The fact of the matter is that Nandez has a 36million Euro release clause [£30.65million], which, if the Whites paid, would make him the most expensive player in their history.

The question is would he be worth that, and if you look at some of the basic statistics like goals, assists, and passing success rate, the Uruguayan is well down compared with some of Leeds’ other midfielders [WhoScored].
For example, Mateusz Klich and Stuart Dallas scored more goals than Nandez last season, while they both had a better passing success rate, as did Kalvin Phillips [WhoScored].
So, if Leeds end up paying his full release clause, you have to question whether he would be worth it?
We will have to see what happens next, but this saga could be over soon if this report is true.
