Nahitan Nandez agent shuts down latest report on Victor Orta

Leeds United and their pursuit of Cagliari midfielder Nahitan Nandez has been the latest transfer saga that won’t disappear.

Italian media outlets continue to drive the story forward, despite sources closer to Elland Road shutting it down weeks ago.

The latest report suggested that Victor Orta had jetted out to Italy this week in order to get the deal over the line.

The agent of Nandez has spoken out on Wednesday, as the Whites continue to be linked with his client regardless.

LUFC FANZONE shared the response on their official Twitter account, and hopefully, it finally shuts these rumours down for good.

“Once again contradicting Italian reports, Nahitan Nandez’s agent has told LUFCFANZONE that he has not recently met Victor Orta amid speculation that Orta has flown to Italy,” they wrote.

“Italian media continue to link Nandez to Leeds, however, his agent has confirmed no talks.”

Finally.

Can we finally all agree that this move will never be happening?

Someone needs to relay these updates to Italy, as they continue to force the idea that the Uruguayan will be announced at Elland Road this summer.

Nandez is a cracking player, of course, but it wouldn’t be sustainable for the Whites to break their transfer record yet again to seal a move.

Midfield needs strength in depth, but after the rise of Stuart Dallas last season, it is hard to justify spending millions on another starter.

Orta didn’t jet into Italy, the move isn’t done, and no talks have been held – it is time to move on.
