Neil Redfearn shares ‘shackles off’ verdict ahead of Leeds United v Tottenham clash

Neil Redfearn has shared a “shackles off” verdict ahead of the Leeds United clash with Tottenham on Sunday (28 May).

The Whites host Tottenham at Elland Road on the final day of the Premier League season, needing to win and needing favours from other matches to stay in the top flight.

Former Whites manager Redfearn has now told the Leeds player to “go for Spurs” with all they’ve got in order to secure their safety.

“I can definitely see Everton and Leicester get beaten today, so shackles off lads, go for Spurs like it’s the last game you’ll ever play,” Redfearn wrote on Twitter.

“Because next season new owner/DOF and Head Coach, so be a Premier League club at 6.15pm! You were born for days like this, MOT.”

Nervous times

It really will be a nervous atmosphere at Elland Road, with the Leeds players knowing full well just what is at stake during their match against Tottenham.

Hopefully they will not want to let their passionate and loyal fans down in West Yorkshire, but everyone associated with the club will definitely be fearing the worst given the current situation in the Premier League table.

The Whites go into the match sitting in 19th place on 31 points, level with Leicester City but with a much poorer goal difference.

And both clubs are two points behind Everton, who go into the final day of the campaign in the best position out of the three sides.

Leeds, however, can only really focus on their own match, with Sam Allardyce only wanting to pick up three points.

A good performance is not the main target this time, with a rollercoaster day expected at Elland Road, Goodison Park and the King Power Stadium.

In other Leeds United news, Chris Sutton has predicted the result of the huge clash between the Whites and Tottenham.
