Negotiations advance between Leeds United and Barcelona as Raphinha nears exit
Leeds United and Barcelona have reportedly made some progress in their negotiations towards the transfer of Raphinha.
According to Goal, the Brazilian is likely to get his preferred move to Camp Nou with the two clubs now adjusting the finer details of the deal.
Leeds have made it clear to Barcelona that they cannot wait any longer as they’ve already secured the services of Luis Sinisterra to replace the attacker.
Paying the price
The Whites are paying the price for not being ruthless enough at the start of the window and not giving Barcelona the time of day.
They knew that the Catalan side cannot afford their asking rate and instead of discussing instalments they should’ve just sold him to Chelsea.
The Blues are willing to pay everything up front and it’s not that Raphinha opposes a move to Stamford Bridge and would not mind playing his football there.
He is smart enough to understand that the finances in the Barcelona transfer were not working out and they’re not in the position to afford his services.
Instead, they decided to play ball with all the demands put forward by his agent Deco and they’re now likely to get paid less than what they would had they sold him to Chelsea.
We hope that this weekend ends all the speculation involving Raphinha and Leeds get the money in order to strengthen other areas.
