MOT View: Leeds fans will erupt if Orta signs Noa Lang

Leeds United have reportedly opened transfer talks with Noa Lang as they look to sign him from Club Brugge this summer.

Per Football Insider, they were scheduled to begin negotiations once the season got over and ensure that the 21-year-old is at Elland Road for next season.

The Daily Mail have now reported that talks have been opened with Leeds and Brugge.

It is understood that the Belgian side are prepared to offload him in the summer and making a huge profit off his sale after making his loan move permanent from Ajax for only £5million.

Lang’s scored 16 goals and provided seven assists this past season and the trickery he brings on the pitch is reminiscent of what Raphinha has showcased since joining the Whites on deadline day last summer.

We really hope we get this one over the line as he’s undoubtedly an ideal fit for our system.

Last season we missed out on Rodrigo de Paul and now we’re seeing him being linked with top European sides.

Lang is not seen at that level thus far, but a few good seasons will undoubtedly see his value skyrocket.

The Dutchman fits the Bielsa mould as he’s capable of playing in an array of positions in the attack. His versatility is probably one of the main reasons why the Argentine is so keen on bringing him to Elland Road this summer.

Signing him would see Lang share the attacking load with Patrick Bamford, Jack Harrison and Raphinha.

Statistically, Lang has proven how he could offer something different to this side. Raphinha and Harrison are our best dribblers and average 5.84 and 6.14 successful dribbles per game in comparison to Lang’s 7.2. [Wyscout]

The three have started every game when fit and in our next season in the top flight, it’s important that we can rest players or it could lead to devastating consequences when the games come at us thick and fast.

That goes double for our aspirations for Europe in the future.

Belgian journalist Peter Vandenbempt has called him a “phenomenon” and we hope that he will light up Elland Road next season.
