Leeds United keen on signing Okay Yokuslu this summer
Leeds United have emerged as suitors for Celta Vigo defensive midfielder Okay Yokuslu who has been on loan at West Bromwich Albion since February.
According to Faro de Vigo (as per James Marshment), Leeds boss Marcelo Bielsa has liked what he’s seen of Yokuslu in his brief West Brom stint, and is keen on getting him to Elland Road this summer.

Yokuslu came in highly regarded by then Baggies boss Sam Allardyce and hit the ground running at The Hawthorns being an ideal midfield anchor for them.
His positional awareness helped free up the likes of Conor Gallagher and Ainsley Maitland-Niles in the middle of the park – giving Big Sam some mobility in midfield.
Should Leeds sign him, he could slot into a deeper role or play as a free eight depending on the situation of the game.
He’s blessed with a great footballing brain and is destined to succeed in the Premier League after a successful audition at West Brom.
Yokuslu has been one of the West Brom players to have gone under the radar. Bar fans of the Baggies, very few would have observed his importance to the team.
However, Bielsa who is smarter than most people, knows what Yokuslu can bring to his side. He could be the ideal Kalvin Phillips back-up but he’s also capable of playing in a number of midfield positions.
If Leeds are seriously considering him as an option, then we must act quickly as there is interest from other clubs as he’s widely being tipped to be a Premier League player next season.
The Athletic’s Steve Madeley who has watched him week in and week out has referred to him as a ‘game-changing’ midfielder who never throws a fit and follows the manager’s instructions to the T.
That sounds like the perfect profile of a player for Marcelo Bielsa.
Transfermarkt value him at £6.75m but it remains to be seen whether his successful stint in the Premier League will put that price up.
