MLS duo issue behind-the-scenes insight on Leeds United boss Jesse Marsch
MLS duo have discussed Leeds United boss Jesse Marsch’s humour, or lack of it, in a behind-the-scenes revelation of the American.
Coach Jim Curton and former player Bradley Wright-Phillips have both encountered the American in a professional setting.
However, they seem to disagree as to whether he’s got a funny bone in his body.
In an excerpt of the interview shared by American journalist Tom Bogert via his personal Twitter account, he wrote, ‘Jesse Marsch off the field? Jim Curtin: “To have a beer with Jesse, he’s one of the best storytellers. … He’s actually hilarious, but don’t tell him I said that part.”
‘Bradley Wright-Phillips: “You know all coaches, they think they’re funny. He’s got a few terrible jokes”.’
Lightening the mood
If Marsch is to be a long-term success at Elland Road, he’s surely going to need a few jokes to lighten the mood.
Football is a high pressure game and managers are usually seen as disciplinarians.

However, the recent era has given rise to the tracksuit managers who can have a laugh with players before and after games.
Marsch appears to be of that elk and hopefully, he can start forming good connections with the players.
While Marcelo Bielsa wasn’t exactly the most hilarious of characters, he did share good relationships with most of the dressing room and that contributed to his success at the club.
In other Leeds United news, the Whites are leading the race to complete a major signing and have already opened talks to seal a £25m deal.
