Michael Owen predicts result of Leeds clash v Brighton
Leeds United will travel to Amex Stadium to face Brighton in the Premier League on Saturday.
Ahead of the match, Michael Owen has predicted a 2-0 defeat for the Whites.
Marcelo Bielsa’s side have been impressive in their recent two matches, but Owen feels Brighton have an edge in this tie.
“Brighton have been great this season. However, they’ll be disappointed to lose out late at Villa Park last weekend,” wrote Owen for BetVictor.
“That said, they’re well above their expected points total for the season, and up against a Leeds side that simply isn’t firing, they’ll be confident of adding to that total.
“Graham Potter’s side have been excellent at the back thus far, and I fancy them to keep it going at the Amex.”
Leeds desperately need points. After a poor start, the performance has improved in recent games, but they need to win games.
At the moment, Leeds are fighting a relegation battle, although there is a feeling that the Whites will soon climb up the ladder.
Leeds have missed several key players through injuries this season. However, some of their key members have returned to first-training this week, and it’s a massive boost for them.
Both Rodrigo and Raphinha missed the clash against Spurs, and the duo are fit to start against Brighton on Saturday.
Graham Potter’s side are winless in their last seven games, and it’s the best time for Leeds to face them.
The Whites must ensure they remain compact throughout the game and don’t concede an early goal. If they can stop Brighton from playing those intricate passes, the Whites have a chance here.
