Michael Owen predicts Leeds clash v Leicester City
Michael Owen has backed Leicester City to beat Leeds United on Sunday afternoon in the Premier League.
The Whites welcome Brendan Rodgers’ men to Elland Road looking to make it two wins on the bounce ahead of the international break.
Owen doesn’t see that happening and has predicted that the Foxes will walk away with all three points in a 3-1 win.
Writing in his Bet Victor predictions column this week, Owen believes that the counter-attack could settle this one.
“Leeds got the win against Norwich last week, but it was hardly emphatic,” he wrote. “I’m still waiting for Leeds to show their best form and I would never have believed that Leeds will only have scored ten goals in their first ten games.
“Leicester dominated the ball against Arsenal but didn’t take or create enough chances. They’ve been far too inconsistent this season but when they have played well, they’ve looked a very good side.
“I fancy Leicester to go to Elland Road and get a lot of joy on the counterattack. I’m going for 3-1 to the Foxes.”
It would be a real signal of intent to go out and beat the Foxes.
Leeds would be confident of turning things around and a big three points would send us into the international break in perfect fashion.
The win over Norwich wasn’t convincing last week, but it will instil confidence in the side ahead of this one.
Compare that to Leicester, who have lost to the likes of Arsenal and then drew with Spartak Moscow in midweek in the Europa League.
That could hand Leeds a real advantage in this one, and hopefully, they can recreate the result from the King Power last season – it would be a huge turning point in the campaign.
