Michael Owen issues Leeds United relegation verdict after what he noticed
Michael Owen believes that Leeds United are still in danger of getting relegated despite their win against Southampton.
Javi Gracia took charge of the Whites for the first time as they beat the Saints 1-0 at Elland Road on Saturday.
With Southampton also fighting against relegation, this was a six-pointer that Leeds had to win and did exactly that but Owen still thinks they are far away from safety.

On the Premier League Productions’ post-match show, Owen said at 11:22 pm on 25 February, “They’re still in trouble when you look at the league but it’s a tried and trusted option and they will surely be buzzing.”
Fair enough
Leeds cannot afford to think that they’re going to be safe just because they spent big money in January and brought in a new manager.
These things take time and he’s going to have to prove that he can do it week in and week out as this result could very well be based on the new manager bounce.
A lot of players will want to prove their worth to Gracia and they could perform at a higher level but it’s now on him to ensure that they maintain this consistency.

Owen may be right about them being in trouble but it’s a good way to start your managerial career at Leeds and he’s certainly taking plenty of positives from it.
Everyone knows that he wasn’t the first choice, but the fans have been backing him to the T and he’s surely going to thrive off it.
It’ll be interesting to see how they approach the next few games ahead of the international break.
